Choosing a flight

Times are Norðurflug’s own, from each listing. The shorter flights are sold by the seat. The longer ones need at least four seats per booking, so the price shown is one seat, with the minimum beside it.

Before you fly

Every flight depends on the weather. If the forecast turns, Norðurflug first try to move you to another time the same day, then to another date, and if they are fully booked and can do neither, they refund you in full.

It does not get cold inside the helicopter, they say: it is much like sitting in a car. Mountain tops can be cold and windy, though, so wear good shoes, a warm jacket, a hat and gloves.

Most flights have a child price for ages 2 to 12 and a separate infant category for under-twos.

Most of these flights use Norðurflug’s own cancellation policy. The operator charges inside 24 hours of departure, 100%; from 24 hours to 3 days before, 50%; from 3 days to 15 days before, 10%. Earlier than 15 days before departure, nothing is charged. Each tour page shows the terms for that flight before you book.
