Archery tag

About this experience

Have you ever tried shooting a bow? Then archery tag is for you.

The newest of Skemmtigarðurinn's group activities is archery tag, where you are given a bow, arrows and the proper protective gear, then go onto the field with your team and shoot at your opponents, entirely harmlessly of course.

A great sport for a group of friends, hen and stag parties, company groups and even the family.

Put your protective mask on, run onto the field when the clock starts and pick up your bow. Then take cover behind the field's big soft walls and start shooting at your opponents.

How the game works

We play two kinds of game: points or knockout. In both, the party is split into two teams that play against each other, and each team needs at least five people.

In the knockout game, an arrow that hits you puts you out. Players who have been knocked out can be brought back in, either by catching one of the opposing team's arrows or by knocking the points off their black and white disc in the middle of the field. The team that knocks out all of its opponents wins.

The points game is about collecting points: hitting someone with an arrow is worth one point, knocking a point off the opposing team's disc is worth two, and catching an opponent's arrow is worth three. Catching an opponent's arrow also brings a team mate back in.

Safety

A protective mask is the only thing you have to wear in archery tag, and the padding on the front of the arrows makes them harmless. Archery tag is a safe, entertaining and unusual way to get to know archery.

Please note that food and drink brought from outside are not allowed in Skemmtigarðurinn. Refreshments can be bought on site.
